For us, this word paints an image of a lone figure on a wide, open plain.

In a world that constantly demands greater speed and efficiency, there are moments when we can’t help but feel a sense of loneliness and displacement. This person has stepped out of that world simply to be in this field.

We think. We draw. We make. We shoot. We think again. Our days as Geidai animation students are an endless cycle of this process. There are no clear answers waiting for us, yet we must come to terms with ourselves in order to keep making. That person who fears the vastness, the place with no map, but parts the tall grass to move forward — that is us.

The same can be said of you, who have also been pushing your way through the grass. That is how you encountered our work.

We, who keep creating, and you, who have wandered into this field. We overlap, if only for a moment. But it will all be worth it if that moment is filled with sparks of wonder.
